the tv is rated at 5amps and 51watts,last september we camped with my parents non EHU and my mum was running the same tv every evening from the caravans leisure battery over 5 nights and the only charge the battery got was from a small solar panel my dad put out every now and then...i only tried mine for a short time on 12v battery just to make sure my old 12v tv lead worked which it did...

i mounted the aerial using the bracket supplied but i pop riveted the bracket on the underside of the trailer at the front but you could mount it anywhere realy, only pic i have is this one but i will put a close one of the bracket on saturday as the trailer is kept at my parents..

the aerial i got was from ebay around £21 inc postage

im sure it was the  Technika i looked at in tesco but i could'nt get any info on weither it was 12v or not as it had a solid lead entering the back of the tv and not a socket where i could swap leads  between a mains one supplied with the tv and a seperate lead for 12v use...

if your only going to be using this tv with EHU then its a great bargain

pic below is of the 12v input socket i have on the side of my kenmark tv bought from comet which is used to power the tv via the mains lead supplied and can also be powered by a seperate 12v car battery lead which you have to buy seperate

Hmmm so many to choose from eh?

Well i bought an August 11" digital tv with freeview about a year ago and it cost about £200+  but it's cheaper now.90 LOOK HERE to read the spec, its ace.

The only thing is the screen is a bit small to view from the other side of my van, its a great little tv though other than that and won what hi fi awards.

What i want now is a 15" or 19" digi tv thats also able to run on 12 volt and must also be widescreen 16.9. aspect ratio   to watch films.

The best one i can find is The AVTEX W193D-W it has a built in digital freeview tuner & analogue multi-standard tuner. LOOK HERE

TV/Freeview/Monitor/DVD Player/Audio CD Player/USB/Card Reader

12 volt DC and mains operation.  but it's not cheap at Price:£391.00   but is a quality set.

The other is cheaper at Price:£279.00 it's a Akura 19" LCD TV with DVD player LOOK HERE  the power it uses is very little look Power:12 Volt DC 3A without DVD - 3.4A with DVD playback

Both are HD ready too. Is it woth the extra £s though as some cheaper sets are not so good in the day time and have a lower Resolution, Contrast Ratio and Brightness cd/m2 but will probabally be ok at night time..

The ones i found have the spec but i want to pay less and get more lol..

Hi

When we were away in the van last weekend and I had an idea, how about a lcd projector? Could be fixed to the deckhead of the van and a pull down screen mounted towards the front. Has anyone else looked into this?

Thanks

Paul
