We usually suggest to Brownies they get the Guide one for that reason. Our Brownie Unit has just bought each brownie a navy Ikea fleece blanket for camp.
I do find sewing badges on not that easy. We also use Ikea fleece blankets in the caravan to protect seats, which double up as blankets at night! – They do seam to wash OK but are not the thickness or quality of the guide blanket.
