I have a spreadsheet on the computer, well a few actually!
One for the camping gear.
One for my stuff, one for OH stuff, One each for the kids, A camping food list and a general Cant go without list(the stuff that doesnt fit in any of the other lists!)
Oh and a shopping list for when we get there and go out and visit the supermarket!

If anyone has any fab lists they'd like to share to a camping beginner..... with a 1 and 2.5 year olds I'd much appreciate it!!! my email is camping at smiledmb dot co dot iuk. Heres hoping one this doesnt get deleted and two you understadn it!!
1st comes a shopping list of things to buy.
then when it comes to the holiday i have lists split into sections (i normally write this the week before leaving)
1. equipment
main - tent, mallet, chairs, table etc
bedroom - airbed etc
eating and drinking
2. clothes
mine
the OH
3. hygiene
me
the OH
4. medical - inc. suncream (always the optimist)
5. accessories - i always forget spare camera batteries!
there's probably another section i've forgotten
think it's about time i created a spreadsheet too!! (excellent tip btw!)
The spreadsheet is a godsend, i just print a new one off before every trip and add or delete things that we are taking. Its surprising what different things you take with you depending on where you are going, with or without kids etc!
