So, in a nutshell, I should use a metal rod, staked into the ground whenever I use the generator? I think that the earthing strap is a Honda accessory and, as such, needs to be purchased separately. Not quite the all-in-one suitcase appliance then?
What appliances would you use that did not need to be grounded then? Most appliances have live, neutral and earth wires. If a caravan is hooked up to to an on-site EHU, is the EHU 'earthed' to prevent any potential problems or does the on-board caravan electronic wizardry address this issue when the current reaches the caravan supply socket?
It's a pity that the brochure does not make more note of this, especially as it is an important safety issue. Funny how the full page colour adverts for Honda cunningly do not include the earth strap and/or rod. Just shows the generator in the foreground with the cable trailing back to the caravan inlet supply socket.
