When we are on EHU we have an electric hot plate (a brilliant Lidl buy!) I think its called a Teppen Yaki grill. Its like a Japenese thingy comes with 4 little wooden spatulas. I bought it last year and thought it might be good for camping.

We went away May Bank holiday and it was the best thing since sliced bread. Lots of near by campers were coming over to have a look. We had grilled fish and we cooked a whole cooked breakfast including eggs for four adults. It was fantastic. The kids thought it was great when we cooked pancakes on for breakfast.

When we take the grill I do take a small 1 burner suitcase cooker and a travel kettle.

We also have a campinggaz 2 burner with grill when we go away with no EHU.

Warehouse, we're moving up from backpacking and a Trangia.  Like you we don't want to waste money on a bad choice that we end up suffering for years, but there doesn't seem to be a wide choice of stoves even in the camping superstores.  Good to hear about the dual fuel ones but does anyone have experience of Coleman PerfectFlow propane stoves?
