I know that they're no good for eating off, but I must tell you about the tables that I've just bought. They're small chair side tables that stick in the ground. So simple yet so fantastic. Worth having in addition to the main table. Got them from ebay for about £5 each.

I like the idea of stick tables, but need something for us and the kids to eat around..

Sigh I really have no idea what to buy and needs to be compact aswell. we'll be eating of the floor at this rate.

We have the Sunncamp version.  Link below.  It looks exactly the same to me but different colour cushions and the price of ours has gone up quite considerably since last year.  It is however very sturdy and you can adjust the legs etc.  It folds down neatly into the seats and the cushions zip together to become the holdall.  It is also very compact but big enough to fit family of 4 to eat.

We've just bought the Halfords one, didn't have one in Tescos.

It seems fairly strong, even the stools.  It has two possible heights, one about a foot lower than the other.  It also has an adjuster screw in bit on each leg, not very much, only an inch or so but I think its going to work out OK.  On first sight I'd recommend it.
