those khyam ones are gr8 very pricey!! and on our last trip even one of those were victim to the wind!! i think maybe it was erected wrong!!
our argos cheapie is left up all day and night, and there was no problem at all :) as for banning gazebos from sites that would be stubid cos campers really do rely on them, like us :) i really think its down to the erection just making sure the feet are all square and pegged down also guyed out correctly.................

I have a hexagonal one with sides that can be opened the sides are pat curtain and like a mesh material letting the wind blow through, the only problem with these are as they are made with canvas when it rains you get a fine mist of rain coming through, i am looking at some form of waterproofing for this if anyone can advise, my friend has tried the spray type but it didnt really sdort it out. but it has been through a few storms, i think alot is to do with the way you peg them out, the last trip we went on the other couple who came with us took a cheap plastic one, it was waterproof on the top but no sides on it, so we put the wind breaks around it it did the job but if you are sitting out late at night and you have heaters on it just doesnt seem to heat it up,unlike the ones with the sides on.
My cheap white plastic one stood up to some fair winds & rain for a week on the side of a hill in North Yorkshire last year, but then I did peg it & guy it properly. Was amazed last week how lax some campers are in their pitching of gazebos, also of tents in some cases. I find it quick & easy to put up on my own but do not think I could manage one of the quick-erect ones that have concertina'd struts as they are quite heavy & need to be pulled out from both sides at once.
I think gazebos are made too high - they stick out above the tents & are therefore exposed to the wind. Am thinking of shortening mine by about half a metre. Don't usually stand underneath it anyway, sit down to do the cooking.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
We had one of the cheapy ones, I can't remember, 15 or 20 quid, we went out for the day, we were camping at Lowestoft, when we came back? Gone! But that isn't my gripe. It's what some sites charge for them! I was on a site this year at Lincoln, Short Ferry, and they wanted 10 quid per night for a gazebo. They don't take that much space up but it seems this site just didn't want them at all. I think the fee was just to discourage people from having them. Not a problem for frame tents, but for people in domes, it's a right rip off!
WE have a khyam garden shelter (has sides that roll up and the external frame like the ridgi pod type tents) and it was bril in the gales in cornwall. Cost £99 from CCC outdoors, but by the time you have the gazebo and the sides if you buy separate ones the total is about the same, and I think this is more weather proof.
No leaks, or worries re stability and we even cooked in it (using the Cobb).
