gazebos are fine if erected properly, we cook,drink beer under ours....i would never go camping with out it...

We only take ours if we take the small tent, and we use the 4 pegging point with Deltas and add 4 more through the eyelets with strong rope and Delta's too. We left ours up all last weekend and the wind was bad. Never moved an inch thanx to the good old Deltas.

I used our gazebo last week, pegged the feet, guyed it out with the ones it came with and then added extra guys and used delta's with them - there were a couple of nights when it got windy and it held firm.

I had read all of the comments on here about gazebos so was surprised that nearly every tent at Fforest Fields had a gazebo of some kind beside their tent, seems they are still very popular

I took my cheap Gazebo to our week long camp and had no problems with it.

It takes all of 5 minutes to put together and quicker to take down. It is all about being sensible with it. We put the gazebo up when we needed it and took it down when we did not. Fully pegged and guylined down it was stable, but I would not trust it if left unsupervised. It's great to sit and eat under. Mine comes everywhere now as well.

Saw one flapping about in St ives 2 weeks ago. Wasnt really windy but they had set it up to cook under and left it all day.

Some people tried to rescue it but it collapsed and was so well tied to the ground and frame that they were not able to get it down. (I think the only thing holding it in place was the washing line attached to it) In the end once the fabric had completely blown off it, it was safe to leave, but we had kept an eye on it just in case it looked like it was going to take off......didnt want to have to pick it out of the top of my tent!
