I sadly am subscribed to lidl, aldi and nettos newsletters...

Never bought food in any of them, apart from a rock hard loaf of bread from aldi once

You should try it - Aldi's food is certainly as good as you'll find in Asda, Morrisons or Sainsburys - can't speak for Netto or Lidl, though.

Aldis do lovely individual icecreams and great breadsticks.
Great for cycling gear too when they have that stuff in. We got a hook up electric inspection light for camping purposes from Aldis a couple of years ago.
Lidls are great for seeds for the garden (in store now) at 29p a packet! My camping fleeces are from Lidls and they have been absolutely fantastic. Great under the sleeping bag to give that extra warmth and comfort.

I'm trying to think, but I'm sure Aldi's camping gear doesn't come in until end of May or beginning of June. I know a friend was hanging on for the electric coolbox, and we had already started camping before the gear came out.

Special K. I can recommend the Aldi electric coolbox, simply because of its value for money and that it has 12v and 240v connections. The friend as mentioned bought a campingaz one, same dimensions etc but £10 more expensive than Aldi's £35 and hers packed up after 6 months!

Fingers crossed they might take into account the popularity of camping and put their gear out earlier

Best wishes Sam

Aldi running gear is just fantastic I cannot praise it enough!! I use it for running (when not lounging on the sofa with wine...actually, I use it for that too!) but it comes into it's own when camping, walking and cycling.
I only take my running gear when I go camping as it is warm and breathable plus dries out really quickly. Highly recommended for bending and pitching a tent in the POURING rain...

I bought a car boot liner yesterday for £4.99 in Aldis. It's very soft, textured, almost spongy rubber 100cm x 120cm which can be cut to size. I thought it would useful as a large door mat for the entrance to our tent. Probably also would be nice under the camp beds as a sort of carpet. It folds very small so doesn't take up much room in car (could even keep it as a boot liner in between trips! Put two on top of each other in the boot - then you would have 200cm x 120cm of flooring in your tent.

Not sure what gear you are after, but I thought the Hi-Gear cupboards in Go Outdoors were v cheap at the moment (£20 for a small and £30 for a large). I looked at Aldi's last year and they werent any cheaper than that.
