Peety yes they are self sealing you can take it off on put it back on as much as you want.

You can remove them, but dont get into a habbit of doing so if you can avoid it.

The valves on self sealing cartridges are known to fail sometimes, so take care to only remove the cartridge out of doors (Never ever in a tent) and well away from any open flames etc.

Yep, and that is a problem with most portable gas stoves, even the ones that take the butane\propane mix cylinders.  

just caught up with this thread, I definately wouldn't buy another of those griddle tops for the sunngas stove, as MT quoted me above, it doesnt seem to fit the stove at all and everying sticks and the middle bit comes off the outer ring when you try turning a piece of meat. 

The stove itself is fine, I have a sunngas one and an unknown brand and they're both as good and use any make of the gas cartridges (actually the unknown brand is better by the fact that are useful safety warnings printed on the side, about not covering the cartridge compartment with a pan, or using 2 stoves side by side without a gap)

Well we can only speak as we find and as I've already said I  have had my griddle for four years now and would not be without it, its each to there own really.
