The 2 sockets on the reel itself are rated IP54. The RCD that will be outside is rated at IP65 so no need to cover it at all.

Don't campsites have to undergo checks every 12months for their licence? so regardless of what set up you use no rcd/inferior rcd it wouldn't matter? as the site has its own rcd..

I went to our local B&Q and they are not stocking this EHU, I'll have to go to one of the Sheffield B&Q's and have a look.

Club sites tend to have 16 amp EHU's.  It is prudent to have a cable that has that rating as a minimum; particularly if you caravan during the cold months of the year.

Even 16 amps is easily exceeded if anyone uses a rapid-boil kettle.  A 3kW kettle draws only marginally less than 13 amps by itself if the voltage at the EHU is a full 240-volts. If the incoming power supply is less than 240 volts, and depending on how far your EHU is from the incoming power supply, any resultant voltage drop will increase the amperage demanded.

Bertie.

But even with voltage fluctuation wont the MCB trip when more than 16 amps is being consumed.

The amps will be less if the volts drop as the resistance of the kettle element remains the same.
A 240v x 3Kw kettle element has a resistance of 19.2 ohms which equals 12.5amps.If the voltage drops to 230v the resistance remains the same and the amps drop to 11.979 which in turn means that your kettle actually gives out 2755 watts.

Does that include an RCD and MCB?
