as a chef i would only say that you dont need to spend much for a decent pan - £5.00 would be more than enough. Get a "non stick" pan and NEVER scrub the inside, just wipe it over with a paper towel. if you really burn something on it, just soak it for a bit in warm soapy water first. i paid £3.99 for mine from a shop called Home Bargains over a year ago and is still like new.

We never use non stick pans, just a cheep stainless steel one, anything stuck can be soaked off and for really badly stuck bits we have a stainless steel sourer which is brilliant. We have not had to replace a frying pan in 10 years at home or camping. For camping tend to look for cheaper lighter versions, apart from Guide camping when go for more substantial frying pan with lid so it doubles as two pans.
