Although we don't use it much we always take a portable DVD - to make sure that it does not disturb others I just go and stand a few feet away from my unit - sorry but if you can hear it, then you are to close to my unit. We don't use it a lot, but there have been times when it has been invaluable, especially when it has been too wet to go out. After all there are only so many walks in the rain that you can take in one week. Same with family games - the other year it was so wet, cold and windy that we were confined to base a lot - got to the point where I felt that if I had to play one more came of Connect 4 I would scream.
The other year we took a dongle for the laptop - and because I had to take our puppy inside after so long (we were camping with friends whose children were not used to dogs) I tuned into the proms on a couple of occasions - kept me amused till bed time.
