Hi. I quite like the look of the Brightspark two slice toaster in my op. If I saw one for £4 in a campingshop I'd probably pick it up. If it was £10, I wouldn't.
It looks a bit like an upgrade on the excellent single slice folding toaster, while keeping its simplicity. The multi-slice pyramid toaster is a bit of a standing joke, the grills on two burner stoves (even if I had one) aren't great and as for taking electric toasters, well yes but not for me even when we take ehu.
Worth a try if the price is right imo.
------------- Tackling life the Western District way
I decided to get a Brightsparks toaster earlier in the year. I got it from Lakeland for £4.99. They're maybe still available in their shops as they are still on their website.
It's been great - you can just fit 2 large slices on. It's a good idea to move them around a little as they cook, as the heat comes up through the holes and leaves toasted circles on the bread.
Also, it's a good idea to shake out any crumbs which may have dropped down through the holes after each use, as the next time they tend to burn and produce smoke. If you're outdoors this isn't a problem but if you were in a van with a smoke alarm there could be a problem.
I've been really pleased with it and I'm glad I got it!
Our kids have really missed toast for breakfast when we've been camping, never thought to buy one of the toasters for the suitcase one ring burner but have just bought a two ring with a grill and they are so excited at the thought of having toast, it made me laugh. Just not had the chance to use it yet.
