I use a couple of the white fire lighters, once the charcoal has caught, about five minutes, (now the good bit) I connect my air bed inflator, and blast the bottom of the fire bed. The result, is a bit like a blast furnace, and all the charcoal is ready to go in about half a minute. Be warned though, make sure the is plenty of space down wind of the BBQ, beacuse there is so much heat generated, that you will get lots of sparks. I also use a piece of aluminium tube on the pump so I can stand away from the sparks.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
