OMG, it wasn't that long ago that I was last there and I didn't see the TK Maxx! Not that I'm the biggest fan of that store. Hmm, am looking forward to mid-November now! :-D
Had a quick look inside the new Decathlon last Tuesday (purely for "academic research" you understand!) and whilst, as the store's name suggests, most of the merchandise seemed to be aimed at those of more athletic inclination than myself, they did stock a number of items related to the more leisurely enjoyment of the outdoors, ie camping!
Not impressed though by the Quechua Base Seconds 4.2 on outdoor display, which had damage to the fabric of one inner tent and to the groundsheet of the other. I wonder if it had previously been displayed outdoors for some time at another branch?
That could well be the case! The tents in the Wednesbury display are on artificial "grass" but appear to be bolted down through this into some kind of hardstanding.
Incidentally, I had good service from TKMax. My son bought a fitted bed sheet that had elastic all the way around the bottom and not just at the corners. Thought I would get some (not seen the fully elasicated ones - since we bought them they have an excellent fit for the cut off double bed in the van - the full elasic takes up most of the corner 'slack'). In order to get the right sort, the shop assistant in Tamworth spent a good 20-25 minutes with me opening all the packets so that I could get what we wanted - a lot of shops would have said, but it, take it home and bring it back if it's not what you want.
Did anyone go to the decathlon launch the other week? I was going to go but the traffic on the M6 was at a standstill so I turned off and went home. Did anyone manage to get any bargains?
I'm guessing your hubby was pleased with today's result bluenosewidow? Although would have been more pleased if there hadn't been an equaliser..... ;-)
