Have a look at websitenwww.satelliteforcaravans.co.uk it is excellent and will give you all the info you need. We have dish on tripod and take Sky plus box with us and always get an excellent picture. Would advise a 19" flat screen TV with Freeview and CD?DVD player included. Can be got at lots of places. One warning though listen to the sound before you buy, some tv's have awful sound quality,

Personally we don't use anything we listen to the radio, or go for walks, or down the pub. We find a couple of weeks on main holiday without TV a real recharge.
I have had experience with Freesat as the static van i stayed in had it, personaly i dont like it, i fouud it hard to use it was a right pain changing channel, everytime it rained it would go off or freeze up, Freeview is prob best, there selling Freesat kits in Arogos clearance shop in stanley for £99. Dont think there worth that personaly. I have been told as long as you have a sky dish near your van you can take your own sky box but not sure as never tried it, the places i go i always take a freeview box, wish i had taken it to the lakes, will next time though.
Freesat has about 35 more channels than freeview with more being added all the time . 5* and 5 usa coming soon aswell as film 4 hd e4 hd and more 4 hd in the pipeline . It is a matter of preference and quality of the kit that will determine the usability . I very rarely watch freeview as the picture quality of freesat is far superior.
