We have a Protec cover, our c.van is a 1991 Abi Award transtar. This cover on our 20 year old van has gone through the snow, wind and torrential rain and it has done a perfect job.It breathes so does not have condesation on the underneath. There is a velcro fitted door piece so you can get it open and let the air inside or do whatever you want or have to anytime as we have a sunny days even cold ones. Our old van has a chimney ontop but it never worried proteccovers all they needed is its length and if it has a certain desing roof. But then the sent us a graph of about 4 different ones and so a swatch of the material, two layered material is used. If you belong to the camping & caravanning club or caravan club you say so and get a discount. I am in a wheelchair yet I managed with my husband to ge tthis cover all over the van. There are strapes that run acrosswyas underneath about 8-10 of them keeping the cover firmly on through all weathers. Also there is a front ball hitch etc cover with velcro fastening also.We did not find it as expensive as we first thought, especially as it rprotects everything so saving expense in the end.have a look at the site as they need the length also.www.proteccovers.com
Thanks for the link,i have e-mailed them this morning and will see what they come back with[fingers crossed]. I really need one as we are setting off in 4 weeks to Bulgaria ,Turkey,Greece ,not back untill October and some of the roads over there are really bad,[pot holes and lose grit].I have vissions of returning back tothe U.K with the frnt of the caravan looking like a dart board!!
PLEASE,PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS TOWING COVER ISSUE?
Recieved e-mail this morning from protec-covers with the same old answer "our covers are only suitable fot caravans with 2 awning rails".[ same response off 6 different firms !!]
Hi Graeme - the towing covers (as opposed to caravan covers) require an awning rail on the nearside of the 'van, and another awning rail on the off-side so that the cover (towing) will slot into a rail on each side. (Hope this makes sense).
Edit - Sorry Graeme, should have read all the replies. You're obviously aware of what I just stated above.
