We use the Khyam Screenhouse fab bit of kit for a  utility tent..

Nice bit of kit but £299, think we will go with the gazebo or tarps and wind breaks.

Take up the offer of the sunncamp you wont be disappointed. I was thrilled when mine arrived it's a lot bigger than it looks on the picture plenty of room to cook safely. Now we have the camper van we still take it and use as a stand alone awning, great for saving your pitch if you want to go out for the day and have used it to sleep two extras, so lots of uses , cant recommend it enough.

We bought one of these last year and it was superb!

We used a gazebo at Lickhill for cooking as we had our nylon tent, (we also have a canvas frame tent and we cook inside that).  So long as a gazebo is well pegged down there should not be a problem.  A separate tent for the purpose is also a good idea.

The only alternatives we can think of (other than buying a caravan!) are to  eat at a pub or somewhere or get wet!  (even Macdonalds is usually warm and dry!).

We've always had canvas tents and have always cooked inside without any problems.  Our latest tent has an open fronted awning, kind of like a porch, so now for the first time we can cook "outside" although we're still sheltered on all sides from the wind and rain, although if it gets really bad we can still cook inside.

Oi! I heard that, eventually. That was a 'previously damaged' gazebo, but my new one stood up to the windy conditions at Elvaston,  and then in the storms in Selsey the following week. It's all about gettin' 'em pegged and guyed properly. having said that, I saw one of those utility tents as a return in Jacksons of Old Arley last week. didn't note the price, but they generally sell returns at about 1/3 of RRP
