Hi devhems. If room allows in your car i really advise that you take your normal bedding ie real pillows and quilts. You can get a large bag that you suck the air out of with a Hoover and it shrinks the size to almost nothing.

I think im going to take 'real' pillows this time ...space allowing. I bought 4 of the inflatable pillows from £land & i hate them. Hubby wasn't too bothered but i like a nice pillow & the inflatable was hard & uncomfy. Glad i only paid £ for them so not much lost.

I'm waiting for those light up tent pegs, that they had last year, to come back.  Absolutely NO use as an actual tent but great to place next to you real pegs so you don't go flying over a guy when you go for a wee in the night

Should be fine, we manage. Might not get all the air out, but it'll do enough to cram it back in the car.

I was going to do this... but I cant work out how to do it to get them home as I cant fit the Hoover in as well!  Is there a simple explanation?  My airbed pump only puts air in not takes it out

Debs

Are you sure your pump hasn't got a deflate nozzle? We have a bog-standard electric pump and ours has another nozzle on the top which deflates. The other thing to check if you're going to do this is whether your pump attachments are a good fit for the hole in the vacuum bags - I had to shop around a bit before I found them to fit ours, a lot had too big a hole.

Thanks Samp - will have a look at it tomorrow - never even thought that I might be able to deflate with it!

Enjoy yourself when you come to our neck of the woods - Dower House is very local to us, although we have yet to visit!
