the reason old frame tents dont have sewn in ground sheets is pretty simple ,they have internal frames which you would have to erect inside a dark heavy canvas box .
new versions have external poles so you dont.
saying that my mum was a beasty hater so she fitted press studs along the mud wall about 6" up so she could clip the ground sheet up higher so in her mind the beasties couldnt understand how to get in .
In reality they had no problem getting in but couldnt understand how to get back out

if she could have afforded a zip i have no doubt she would have created a zipped in groundsheet in the 50's

Hi, we have just purchased the Corado 6, 2 bedroom steel pole frame. Paid £250 from GO Outdoors, easy to erect and plenty of headroom so no bending. Have to actually take it on its first outing but set it up in the back garden over the weekend and it was a breeze to erect and dismantle. They also do this in an 8 person version. Nice porch area on the front for cooking and shade, and plenty windows for extra light, We love it.
