I've been reading this with interest and thank you all! We are returning to france again this year, with our own tent etc this time (did eurocamp first time to see how it went). My children will be 3 and 4. The campsite has a quiet rule until about 8am and I was wondering how we would ever be able to keep to it. It all seems very possible now. I remember there were heaps of children running around until quite late and I thought that we were maybe the only sensible ones sticking to our routine. Now I know better!!!!!!
As for sleeping ... we are off to Oxfordshire the week after easter for a trial run and no it may be chilly at night. When we last camped over the last august bank holiday I had a sleepless night as my son (2) would not sleep in sleeping bag as he didn't like being so restricted. He ended up kicking me out of mine, taking mine and leaving me to try and squeeze as much of me as I could into a child's sleeping bag! This year we all have sims with fleecy covers (sleeping bag liners!) and duvets with a picnic blanket carpet. fingers crossed!
I don't know if this helps anyone, but we were out shopping today and went into Primark and found they had reduced their childrens thermal vests to £1!! We bought 3! BARGAIN!!
This is an interesting thread as I am totally new to camping and hoping to have a go this season with our 2 and a half year old. The advice about the plastic golf clubs is a great one actually, I am sure he would love that! We have a Thomas readybed seeing as he is sleeping in a normal bed anyway, but wondered if that was enough really-would he be better off higher up? I will follow this toddler thread with interest! :-)
my little one is 19 months and this weekend just gone he had a double bed all to himself with a thomas the tank engine duvet and for meals he sat on a bench at the table with us...
