In a tent with a SIG it is so much more pleasant and cosy to have a carpet underfoot rather than just the cold groundsheet. However, I have never been able to justify paying out the prices that they charge...you could almost carpet your living room in Axminster for that!!

I use picnic rugs which are very much the same type of thing only smaller of course. Bearing in mind that in a tent with sloping walls you are unlikely to walk right up to the edge, why carpet right up to the edge? That is where most of your boxes, tables, and other furniture sits anyway. I have two rugs in the living area of my tent (could possibly do with another one) and also use one in the bedroom pod. They can be purchased for various prices, maybe £4 to £7 at most, so shop around.

They can ruck up and move around (more likely if you have kids running in and out) but the furniture holds the edges down if you place it right, but even your £80 wall to wall colour coordinated expensive tent carpet will ruck up as well if you shuffle about on it

Like others have said, the tent carpets are perfect for making camping a little more cosy, especially if you have young children who like to crawl around the tent. The tent footprints (groundsheets) that shops tend to sell alongside the carpets are also useful in my opinion, just for that little bit of added protection and warmth.
