We use this one we bought from Ikea. I had to extend the cable, but its a great light and at the time it cost us less than a tenner. I use an energy saving bulb in it and it lights up the tent brilliantly.

That's the kinda thing I was going to make up. Hadn't thought of Ikea so at their prices might be a timesaver just to buy something like that and be done with it. Cheers dezzie

I'm not keen on a 240V light up top due to condensation getting into it, I use a long row of LED fairy lights run from a transformer. They produce a decent level of light through the tent without having a glaring bulb in the middle.

I have a couple of these that are in water-resistant covers. Energy saving bulbs don't get too hot and are bright but not dazzling.

I use a water resistant bulb in ours and its shower resistant (if you have a look at my photo of the light you'll see that its LEDs that the light uses rather than a filament and its double sealed and screw in, so there is little chance of it being any more dangerous than any other light that is hung up - with the added safety that the bulb does not produce any heat whatsoever. The wiring of the light is really secure too so no chance of wires coming loose and in 3 years of use its caused us no problems whatsoever.

 hey boofadog try your local asda electrical dept i got a lightbulb holder with plugand plastic crocodile clip and electric 3 pin plug for about  2.99 just need abulb

We got a clip on bulb holder from Wilkinsons, same as photo on page 1 but with a straight cord, not curly. We use it with an energy saving bulb for coolness close to the roof.
