   When I worked on a campsite we had endless people bringing butane bottles for replacement only to find they were still fairly full.  Cold weather plays havoc with butane so as has been suggested it is advisable to use propane [can be used all year] just remember you will need a different regulator.

I think maybe we should get propane just to be on the safe side.  We don't know how much gas there is in the bottle we have, anyway, cos it came with the van, so we may not be wasting much if we exchange it.
