Don't use the Outwell instructions. Look at this video.
It really is that easy. There's a video for putting away too. You will have a good night's sleep!

Dezzie - we still have the montana 6 but dont use it as it is so cumbersome - takes up loads of space and is a pig to put up but if it is the only thing I can put decent beds in to get a good nights kip then I may have to resurrect it - never got a good nights sleep in it either though

We use the Posadas double and we've spent years having the same problems getting a decent sleep while camping. This has solved our problem. We've been through all the other options too and I can honestly say we finally have found the solution. You'll likely need to bring out the Monty though.

Cool campers use Delta Pegs.

We use a Coleman Raised Quickbed Queen and it is the only thing we can get along with, so much so that we always carry a spare! We sleep on a very good quality mattress at home and the Coleman is comparable in comfort. It is double mattress height above the ground and I think that is a big psychological bonus to help make it feel 'right'.

Here's a a couple of tips for using them:
1) On a warm day, let the pressure down during the daytime to help prevent it expanding and rupturing (ask me how I know!).
2) No matter what, briefly firm it up with the air pump as evening sets in every night.

One other thing... we use normal bedding April - October - duvets & pillows while camping, no sleeping bags.

Are self-inflating mattresses any good? They don't seem very thick.
