you could try argos for the canisters. Last time I saw some, they were about £15 for 4 cans. Chances are though, if you look online they will say out of stock for reservation as you need to be over 18 to buy them, so you will have to go to the store and take the chance they have them in stock.

I purchased a few of the cadac gas cannisters from tesco at 1.47 a pop,for my primus stove, a week later i purchased the cadac mini chef for £10 a bargain i couldn't refuse.

Well worth keeping an eye out in their seasonal aisle.

normally i get my gas cannisters from carp fishing shows, always seems to be on offer or i go to argos.

There is a solution to using the EN417 cannisters with the Cadac.

If you want to run it more cheaply then I would suggest one of these-

Adapter

I got one from that seller and the delivery was quick and the item is very high quality. This adapter will allow you to use these cannisters-

Gas

They work out at around £1 for 227g, so around £2 for an equivalent amount of gas from the regular large 500g cannisters.

I have just received the above adaptor, but cannot get it to fit on to my CADAC mini chef. The thread looks the same as on the EN417 cartridge, but the adaptor will not screw on.

Did yours fit straight away, Reggiewac or did it needsome sort of adaption ?
