your link doesn't work but looking at it I guess you are referring to the Frontier stove. Well thought of on this and other camping related pages. I did consider it as an option.
With the additional flue sections needed to exit the top of the tipi and delivery it would come in at a few pence less than 150GBP. With the frontier I would also need to make, or get made, a pipe with spacer to keep the hot flue away from the tent material as it exits through the integral stove jack of the tipi, this would incur additional expense with the frontier.
As the Russian version came with such a flue pipe and some 45 degree angled pipes for different installation options, coupled with the stainless vs mild swung it very much in favour of the Russian stove.
looking at this picture the frontier stove is made overseas rather than in the UK
the tentipi has an integral stove jack so no need for a flashing kit, you can see the jack this picture. You need some sort of insulating pipe surrounding the flue as it passes through the jack. Basically a larger diameter pipe around the flue to give an air-gap
I've not checked back with the advert which I read before buying my Frontier stove, but I did think it was UK made untill I ceceived it and read the box. Either way it works really well.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
The Canadians are very into these stoves and have them on their boats and some caravans where they have a double pipe set up where it goes through the deck or cabin/caravan roof. Usually the outside pipe/cup arrangement is filled with water to keep the deck cool. However I think that silicone would be the modern alternative.
I would love one of these stoves for the awning of our FC but it won't be this year or next.
