never come across a 3 amp but 5 and 6 are very common abroad 10 is common 16 amp is rare travel equipment is the way to go - generally smaller so space and weight saving - and certainly less power so you are less likely to trip things out UNLESS the proverbial hair drier appears
Thanks for those. My homework suggested 16A is common for caravan and trailer hookups but not tents. I'll add the 3A and 5A and submit an update.
Paul+Kate, as someone said, look for the sticker on the appliance. For example from the bottom of my kettle:
In this case you would enter 2200 for the Power (W) because that corresponds to 230V. It wouldn't matter if you chose the larger wattage, just more room for error.
Thanks sanhozay were are going to holland and it says 16amp ehu does this mean I will get the 16amp power supply into my tent sorry about all the questions but electricity is not my forte

Sanhozay sorry but another question if I buy a lamp and use a 40 watt bulb is that the amount of watts the lamp will draw I must sound really thick

sorry to add to your confusion, but alot of tent hookups only have a 10amp mcb if yours is the same then this will be your limit even if you are on a 16amp hookup.
