I have now given up using airbeds after many years of happy use. After waking up on the floor at the Deershed festival last year, I suppose it was inevitable that the bed would succomb to a leak at some point!

I now have a very comfortable folding camp bed which I use with my Duvalay.

I do have an inflatable sofa which (so far!) is doing its job!

We had 2 blow up chairs and left them in the tent one day when we went out. On returning we found that one had gone considerably out of shape and the other one had exploded.

I thinkwe must have been lucky, we've used the wilkos blow up sofa for about 8 weeks worth of camping and still going strong. We have to blow it up a bit every other day but it's quite useable. Always use a throw on it as its v ugly

Hi bluenosewidow

here is a link to one of the chairs like mine - the only difference I can see is the colour - mine is blue.

http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/190614034074?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&adtype=pla

hope the link works

Not sure how good these are either? Similar to Sues

I quite like the idea of 2 of these pushed together to make a sofa

We had an 5 in 1 inflatable sofabed, bought it some years ago before inflatable camping furniture really got going. I remember the ads for it used to show it jammed between 2 vans (to illustrate how tough it was!).

It was quite good for use in England, to be fair, although it did need topping up a bit most days. Taking it to France killed it; I think it was just too hot for it and it must have developed a leak (though we never found where it was).

This advice regarding inflatable furniture is on the Coleman website, and pretty much sums up our experience:

'Caution: Air temperature and weather do affect the air
pressure in inflatable products. In cold weather your
airbed will lose some pressure do to the fact that the air
will contract. If this occurs, you may want to add a little
air to improve your airbed’s performance. However, in
hot weather, the air will expand. You must let some air
out to prevent the airbed from failing due to overpressure.
You should avoid exposing your airbed to extreme
temperatures (hot or cold).'

Thanks Val and Sue I do like the chair and stool. We've got an inflatable sofa bed which we use in the awning of the caravan. I do have to add air every other day and I have it leaning against the van which helps to keep it more upright when you're sitting on it.

I bought 2 inflatable beanbag type chairs from Asda last year which are ok but Sue's appear to give a bit more support plus I like the stool, I also like the idea of a couple of the Vango ones as a sofa

Yup agree they are wobbly! Trouble is i need something that packs small for when i do Scotland in June (no trailor) so going to give them a go. Pushed together with a blanket on the balance is ok. Might be worth putting them both in a empty duvet cover first, will stop them rolling and protect them from paws.

Like your chair but one is no good as the dog always sits on it, and I'm not setting him up his own chair! And it works out a bit expensive for them ones (shame they dont do them without stools, as not bothered about that bit)

Had a play earlier. Took 20 mins to blow the first one up. 30 seconds the second when I used the cap opening rather than the valve (at least they are easy to deflate, just unscrew the cap)

They are pretty huge, but at least they are low, and I'm not really struggling for room in the bells

My assistant liked them

And an hour later he still liked them

Will do for when i dont take the trailor

That's a good idea about putting them side by side in a duvet cover, to make them more stable then putting a throw over them both.

Or, maybe you could make a fleece duvet type thing with 2 of the Dunelm blankets (same as you did with the double SIM), and kill 2 birds with one stone?

Val

You say you dont want to set hound up with his own chair -  I think he has already made the decision for you - I think you may well be on the floor

Fortunately with my hound we can both just about squeeze on the same chair and he gets hot and jumps off after not too long - I think he does it just to prove a point!

Enjoy Scotland, I would love to get up there, but have yet to travel further than Devon on any of my camping trips. Same for this year - Exmoor again, not that I am complaining

We also have one of those 5 in one blow-up settee's. this on is 8 years old and still going strong. you do have to be careful whare you set it down. as they easily get punctured by stones or twigs.

But the best thing is ;- --- getting off one when you are sunbathing ?  with sun tan oil ??

And they have just cut the grass ???

Took me 15 minutes to get up and gave the whole site a laugh !
