We started off with camp beds but my wife found she couldn't get comfortable on hers and kept waking up, so we invested in a Gelert Adventure XL 10cm. Both my wife and I have slept on it and found it to be comfortable enough to get a good nights sleep. The only thing I'd point out is that it has a polyester top and base which makes it easy to clean, but our sleeping bags tended to slide about a bit, so we had to wrap the sleeping mat with something (my wife used her sleeping bag liner).
Many people recommend / suggest topping up the mat once it has 'self inflated', but we both found this made it a little too firm and both preferred it when it wasn't quite so full of air.

thanks for replies everyone
We use a trailer so don't specifically need to consider pack size (well as much as you do with anything, but we won't be backpacking it)
We need to stick to a double rather than 2 singles (that makes a queen right?) as the sleeping pod is exactly double sized.
So what I'm taking from this is....a SIM on it's own is doable..but 7-10cm is needed. If using a sleeping bag then a fitted sheet/topper on the SIM will stop the bag sliding off it.
we bought the same as Inca 10! 2 Gelert Adventure XL 10cm SIM!. But unfortunately we couldnt get away with them! I found it to hard, I let some air out whilst on it but that really didnt help at all. we had duvets on top, we then lied in our sleeping bags but still felt hard, we didnt get good nights sleep and woke up aching. guess what suits one doesnt another! so they are only few weeks old unused as tested them in house and are now gathering dust. A costly expense as we then bought Aerobeds and we both agree we prefer them!

We use sims and have no problems with comfort or cold. The only problem i had was when i lent them to a family member who brought them both back with huge splits in them ! Had to replace them (his expense) as his kids must have thought they were trampolines.

just looked at the spec of the Gelert mats and they are 64cm wide. That means 2 would fit in my pod (130cm wide) Are you selling yours andreaslovelys?
Hi,
They are listed on here to sell put unfortunately due to size and weight they have to be collection only. I note your location as Glasgow? which is a bit to far to come lol
