I have not had a bad experience with my Khyam 4-pole canopy windbreak, as it managed to survived in last Sep 11's strong wind when Tropical Storm Katia hit the UK, when my tent was damaged beyond repair.
I drive the poles down as deeply as I can, using two rubber door stops to protect the spike at the top from being driven inside the poles.
I would use 2 guys per pole. If the ground conditions are normal to soft, and it is very windy, then I would use Delta pegs for all the guys. Otherwise I may subsitute some of the Deltas with 9in angle steel pegs from the likes of Ronnie Sunshine.
The pic below was taken in Jul 10 when I was in Salisbury where I had 40+ mph wind one night, and my tent and windbreak survived, while the dog and I slept in the car as it was too noisy for him to the settled.
