I have the Royal Adjustable chairs. They're bulky, but in a totally different class to the cheapies I had before. Very comfortable!

I agree very comfortable, well made, strong....but as an estimate in volume folded twice as large as the standard supermarket stuff...just to warn you.

The above link is where we bought ours, they are cheap but provide a decent service.

I too have been looking into chairs for our children that would look to be better quality than the standard supermarket chair and not as bulky as padded chairs, so I whittled it down to three that may help you.

We have the Quest commander chairs, but identical to the Royal (probably exactly the same). Can heartily recommend, as our DD can eat properly with us.

Those Royal chairs in your pink camouflage Youlbury look like those we have just binned even though they weren't Royals were Coleman - So I'd avoid those if I were you to be on safe side - rubbish.

I think maybe Im going to have to begrudgingly take a little extra bulk as Im not sure if I could really trust another lightweight camping chair.  The Coleman was £17 so not cheapy but literally fell apart after really light use.  The  other one was £12 and held out slightly better but fell apart at the back of the armrests where it fitted around the back rest pole - perhaps Im going to have to take a trip and see some in the flesh on this

Thanks - not buying Lafumas as OH and I have those and they are enormous and heavy so don't want anything quite so bulky.

They are only really for the children to eat at a full size table so although I don't want big bulky chairs I would like some good quality chairs.  Those Royal Adjustable chairs look like they could be quite good though - I'd prefer the camping chair style fold too.

The Lafuma picnic chairs ... are small, light, and fold away to nothing!!
Now thats a curved ball I wasn't expecting - could be good.  I like the idea of being able to add the footrests as they could be great for the kids at meal times, but great poolside when we can't be bothered with the race to the sunbeds in France!!

Well I am onsite now free wi-fi and shown all our friends on the rallie our new riviera's from Riversway Leisure. They cannot believe the quality for the price (2 for £59). They are the same as Lafuma's (copies me thinks) and have compared them to their own lafuma's. But hey its your money your decision I am trying to offer the benefit of my recent experience.
