How about melamine? There may be price reductions around. The plates I paid a lot for in spring are now down to 1p!

Work out a fiver each with postage 17

Aaaghh!!  I didn't notice that! 17

Hi,

OLPro Melamine - really high quality - so as close to Crockery as you'll get but much, much less likely to break enroute :

We have just bought a full set of Corelle crockery from here.

OMG!!! I purchased some Corelle when I went to visit my sister in USA 2 years ago and brought it back in my 'carry-on' bag to protect it (stuffed with assorted clothes as protection!)
I bought the square Shadow Iris - 8 smaller dinner plates (to help us have smaller portions) 4 larger plates (for when we are feeling greedy!) 6 side plates (plain white - Shadow Iris wasn't available)and 6 square plain white bowls. I'm sure I paid about $60 (about £40) which I didn't think was too bad but I've just seen that a 16 piece set from World Kitchen is £84.99!
Wow, I got a bargain!!

Planning to go to Holland for 2 weeks camping in August BUT the planning is giving me a headache!
