Bash 'em. Had our current one for years, but have just had to replace 3 of the poles.

Can't see how a guyed windbreak would hold up in the wind so sticking to poles

I errect the windbreak to one side of the tent, making sure I have a clear passage way for access to avoid trip hazards.

Which is what we did and the wood pole snapped.

Both types can blow down.
