Serves 'em right for not vacating their pitch on time!!!

On topic, I've just ordered one of these:

but have to wait until Sept 4th to get the tow bar fitted.

They do a box option, and indeed bike rack option, but the boxes are way to steep, price-wise, plus the bag will be easier for me to find storage space for it, when not in use.

Having read the OP, I just hope it wears a little better!!

Might even consider wrapping the footprint around it, rather than storing it in it!!!

Where is this from? I looked on Thule site and couldnt find anything similar, and what is it called ?

Cheers

I had trouble itch Green Valley. It was a toss up between this and the Thule, but I went for Green Valley because of price. The retailer was very good and gave me a refund, they said the chips that appeared on the outer of the bag were something they'd never heard of before.

Forget all about boxes or bags - you can also do like those people in Spain...

(The picture was just sent to me by a friend who is in Spain at the moment)

It's a Thule EasyBase, and you can get the bag too. I know they are also sold in the UK, there are several threads about it here on UKCS.
I have one which I use (without a bag, and without the upright part - to keep the weight down)for transportation
of my heavy canvas tent - and actually I do wrap the groundsheet around it when the weather is bad!

(DD sad about the end of the holiday)

Sorry, Beanchimp, I was away, but pingvin is bang on..... A Thule Easy base, with easy bag. 315L of extra luggage space......

Here's the real thing......

I won't pretend they are perfect. The straps that connect the bag to the base are a little fiddly, ( 4No to each bottom corner, plus 2No to the rear upright bar/frame) but you end up with a secure unit. I suspect a quick release/set up would equal flimsy/insecure, so I'll take this option any day!!
Was chucking it down all the way home (2 hr drive) and it was wet through and filthy by the time we got home..... but it was all outside! Not a drop of rain or damp patch in sight inside the bag! :-)

Make sure you have done with the back door before you put it on, otherwise, you are looking at 5 mins to take it off, get what you are after out the boot, then 5 mins to put it all back again! Like I say, not quick release, but it does exactly what I wanted it to do, so I have to give it a 10 out of 10.

Well done me...... good choice!!

Ah, I would like to know as well, we are trying to decide between a roof box or bag at the minute, I am leaning towards a bag though because of storage space and price.

I got a roof box in the end. I found I could fit more in the bigger roof box than the bag and space is what we were looking for.

Roof bag all the way here.. we've used both, just on our last trip 2 weeks ago. Roof bag on the trailer and roof box on the car (do we ever need a bigger car!!)

Much prefer the roof bag, can fit a lot more stuff in it and we got caught in a torrential downpour as we arrived home and everything in the bag was still dry.

We're now getting rid of our roofbox and getting another bag..

Had two of these (smaller one first and now a larger one) and can't recommend them enough.

Roof Bag
