Not sure they claim to offer a solution - they just work well. hose who understand some physics will understand how such small length pegs can be so effective.
They are also really only for guy ropes not general pegging of tents so not replacing any particular one type of peg
I only have four of the nylon ones for our porch awning and I was impressed how well they stayed in some sandy beach side soil for a week recently
