hi  i am reading this thread with interest, i am a truck mechanic and there are a lot of trucks and buses useing retreads with great success and cost saveings. the strips of rubber at the side of the road are useally caused by the tyre being under inflated,heating up and tyre flexing to much and the tread peeling off.i would and do use remolds on my run about and do buy good tyres for my sedona.

I find this unbeleilavable ,when you pay £40 to £50 on a tank of fuel , that might cover 400 miles , that people are taking the option to put inferior, which ever way you look at it , tyres that at the end of the day are your only contact with road , just to save a few pounds, braking tests on top gear last year ,proved that the cheapest new budget tyre, far out performed any remould,

a few years ago a retread company was advertising that there retreads were fitted on large passenger jets, any one remember bandag retreads
