I used my fleece liner in my camper lux bag on 8th march. I was in North Yorkshire enduring freezing rain and snow. The liner was terrific, not at all uncomfortable, and certainly kept me warm at 5C below.

I have tried both silk and fleece the silk had no effect on warmth but the fleece is great.

I agree with others on here - my silk liner for summer to prevent having to wash sleeping bag and fleece one for when you need extra warmth - sadly the fleece one gets more use these days in the awful weather we have suffered last couple of years

Good info here. We bought gelert sleeping pods as lots of room and you can move around. However, despite them declaring it is comfortable at -4.8 we are in a caravan and I feel chilly sometime. We have blankets but we sleep on narrowish beds and they just slip on the floor. After reading this will buy fleece liners.

We use silk liners in our sleeping bags but only use them when backpacking. Its a down quilt for us when basecamping, can't remember the togs but two quiolts that pop together depending on the temp.

Silk can have great insulating properties but not really in itself, as it doesn't trap air within itself but as a base layer it traps a layer of air next to the skin and also between your next layer very well
