We just bought one of these, it might sound large but it is not when you start packing stuff in with cooler blocks. We also have a EHU freezer which means on longer trips we can maintain both short term ( milk , wine , cheese, defrosting meals ) and enough frozen home prepared food to make us almost supermarket free for the duration. It will also offer us the option to not bother with the freezer on shorter quickies.
