We have a Hi Gear Sweet Dreams double 2 season, and it's fine for us. It's cotton, so none of the shiny stuff slip sliding around, and the zip opens fully so it's a huge quilt if required.

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
We have a Coleman double which is good. The problems with two singles zipped together is that the join is in the middle. A proper doubel has zips on the outside so you can independently open your zips of you get too hot!!
We have always used double sleeping bags. Rectangular ones have always worked well for us. OH is 6ft 4 & thin & i am 5ft 3 and round. never had a problem.
We prefer them as snuggling keeps you warm!

Bought myself a double square one from Tesco .... Hubby has tried to steal it loads the kids have tried to steal it ...best ever buy ...so much to say bought hubby one last week for his birthday present in the sale at the mo if you buy on line £20.00 and have sent to your store .... Beware there are two types ours is the fleece lined one .... Pure comfort ...would not be without .....it is bigger when packed but. Worth it ...100% ... Love them .....
We have this one and love it. Even though it says its only a 2 season we were snugly and warm during the freezing temps. at Easter. No cold drafts, between us.
I can see the benefit of having two singles zipped together but this does make the point raised earlier that the zip will be in the middle. Sleeping bags, like Airbeds, SIM and camp beds are down to personal choice .
We use the Coleman Hampton Double which I believe is a bit wider..? Biggest problem is it's a big pack size, other than that I think it's great.
If you use the envelope type bags (the traditional shaped square ones- not the new ones with a hood attatched), as you unzip them fully and then open them fully (like opening a book), when you zip the two together, the zips are on the outside, not the middle!, and as stated above, you get two independant zips to open if you or your other half get too hot!

That's a great bag mcguire. I know thou shalt not covet thy fellow forum members camping equipment, but I may have to organise some mishap with ours so I can buy that beauty. Then go to confession.
Do I detect we're of one mind on the eternal airbed/campbed debate?
