Hi Justin
I've never tested one using proper test equipment but about 5 years ago I went to a place called St Lumiere near St Malo in France and had a very senior moment and forgot to pack the satellite dish.
We pointed the Status 535 at the Channel islands without much hope and much to my surprise got perfectly watchable analogue TV.
I think you will find that the aerial and ADA come as a pair so if you do want a test set up maybe you could pursuade a caravanning mate to tow his van to your test site and do the tests that way.
Good luck
Fortunately we remembered the dish this time as I doubt we would get digital TV from the Channel Islands from the Ardeche!! Its a bout 29 degrees and sunny so I'm off to walk the dogs.

Hello David.
I have to test the passive version of the aerial, the newer version with the red/orange writing on it. I have actually managed to get my hands on a Status 550 and tested it as well. I intend to cut open the casing to see the aerial within, I`m pretty sure it`ll be a short 18 element Log Periodic. Anyway, once I`ve cut open the aerial it won`t be saleable but the rest (the rotator, the pole and the amp) will be on my mate`s E Bay account for sale in the next month or two !
The problem with using an aerial whilst still attached to the caravan is all aerials to be tested against each other have be in exactly the same position.
