I have to say out of all the inflatable awnings I've seen (including new 2014) the Kampa Rally Pro has the edge, the other brands are all good in their own way but Kampa are ahead of the game compared to everyone else because they were first to market and the owner has been designing porch awnings longer than anyone else in the uk, he was the guy who designed the first little dome tent style porch awnings many many years ago.

We recently bought an inflatable Vango Varkala 280 for our caravan. It is made of really heavy duty material in comparison with the Sanna, for not much more money, well worth the extra.

We have the Rally Air pro, have only been away once so far so not able to say much about it. Yes, it went up easy, down even easier. It didn't rain and wasn't windy so am waiting on judgement for this. Lovely thick material so very pleased with the quality.

To add on, we bought the Kampa Air Pro 390 and have it up now for the 1st time. Once we worked it out it went up well, would say next time should not take more than 15 mins all in. Seems very solid, gonna use it a lot as we are on a gap year and touring England for the summer so will report back. Very impressed so far and well worth the investment.

we bought a caravan and used the Dorema awning with it on our first trip out a few weeks back really disappointed. we had the Isabella with our Crusader and you can tell the difference in quality.
We had a walk round the campsite and I really liked the Isabella Magnum but at just under £1000 it's expensive for a porch awning. OH spoke to a man who had the Kampa air awning who was pleased with it, but they are almost impossible to get. we are looking at the Varkala 420 too. It's a lot of money to pay out when there aren't many reviews on them yet. they do give. 2 year guarantee though.

I use my kampa rally air 260 last April in north Devon.
The first weekend we had hurricane force winds and torrential rain.
I put a couple of storm props at a 45 degree angle attached to the back steel poles and apart from a small amount of pooling on one roof panel it stood up to everything that the weather thew at it.
very pleased with the awning.

Not a new idea have a look at this one from app 1970, didnt catch on then and i think the new ones will have a short life and suffer the same fate

Just to be aware there are two awnings.....Rally Air and Rally Air Pro. The Pro is a lot heavier material so I'm hoping will withstand pretty bad weather. The Air is about £150 less than the Pro but I have seen internet sites selling them off at the same, higher price.

Im not so sure alpiner...
I think back in the 60's - 70's the inflatables tents were small pods as you have shown and this was when families (always have been and always will be the main market)liked the space of frame tents. These new inflatable tents offer all the space a poled tent offers but with the ease of pitching you can only get with an inflatable (unless you like bell tents).

As for inflatable awnings, it's a no brainer, let's face it, the vast majority of caravan owners are older and whether we like it or not most of us end up not being as fit as we once were, man handling an awning with its frame etc can be hard work. If you think inflatable tent's are now popular its nothing compared to inflatable awnings for caravans and motor homes.

Hi Gary yes i agree with you about easy to put up for us older people and i think they are a good idea, they also save a lot of weight but you can not get a puncture in a pole that can be replaced at very little cost, only time will tell.
