I have a number of Vango AirBeams on show and have had for a few years. The 150 denier polyester tents will last all summer (6 months) and then they will start to feel a like they only have a few months left. Taking into account these demo tents are in the same position all the time so the sun hits the same side all through the summer, so in normal use they will last longer.
As for the main thread to this post it is easy to tell if the sun's UV has effected the fabric as it starts to feel crispy, if the main fabric was not feeling crispy but the awning was leaking a bit through the seams then yes this is not great but a quick spray of a waterproofing just along the seams and the awning would be fine.
Just facts, not taking sides.

I got the same UV excuse when my tent roof started to rip like paper, but said they had improved it for 2016 tents so they admit there is a problem . Thinking of buying a Coleman, good move? i'm new to camping
Maybe better to ask that question in the 'under canvas' section.

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I would just like to point out that my old Saunders Fellpine tent lasted over 30 years before it got crispy and disintegrated due to UV.

I think the current crop of air tents & awnings are built down to a price in order to make the price reasonable. So because of that you get a short life product.
Bought Vango Kalari air awning I February of this year, leaked on second use, sent back and returned from fango a week later with no explanation as to problem. Used it at the beginning of this month and while errecting I, noticed right outer leg leaking
This I repaired with kit supplied then when adjusting leg ppsitions, left outer leg went pop. A hole the size of a two pence piece was found in the flimsy inner airbag. Contacted the retailer where I bought it and they contacted Vango.
Two new inner tubes were sent to our holiday site within a couple of days.
Vango's customer service so far has been exemplary but their product leaves a lot to be desired.
P.S.
It is now a week since I've replaced the two airbeams and a water leak has now developed in the roof. 😤😢
Just having a similar problem with a November 2017 varkala connect 360 used 5 times.
Leaking on awning rail side where top fabric should be fully adhered and is delaminating.
Wish me luck!
Unbelievable for this price of awning.
