Try rubbing skin of a chicken with EV Olive Oil, crack open a can of bitter and shove the chickens rear end over the can. Place in Halogen oven and cook as normal. (Keep the can upright - neck of chicken to the top.)

I saw it done on "John Torode's Australia" and it looked beautiful.

Sounds a nice tasty idea, but wouldn't, you end up cooking paint into the chicken?

They didn't mention that on the show. (And it never entered my mind after beer was mentioned. )

I bought one at Costco two years ago and shamed to say I've never used it. I'm going to give it a go this week and have a look at the website. Just unsure how to use it in terms of loading it. We are a family of six so not sure if it could cope with the amounts I need.

You can get an extender ring gives you loads more room, I have one and also the lid holder.

Take the halogen every year to France and it is a moneysaver- cook fresh meat, fish and pizzas etc. serve with ready made salads and bread- or baked beans for kids- as well as a cooked breakfast- has saved us hundreds of pounds over the last 5 years- bought mine from a tv shopping channel and has hinged lid which makes life easier.

I bought one after a camping trip with a friend who used it to cook most of the meals. It was so simple to use and the chicken and chops were cooked to perfection.
I bought mine from Aldi about 4 weeks ago. They were not on display but I asked the assistant and she said they had them in the back. Extra bonus it was reduced to £17.99. It comes with an extension ring which I use to rest the lid.

One of the best things I have bought. I use it all the time in the caravan and once home I use it more than my oven. My boys prefer pizza cooked in the halogen, and I cook most other food that you can do in the oven in it. Well worth it's money.

I love my halogen oven so having recently bought our 1st caravan I bought another one, unfortunately we used it last weekend and discovered the next day it has melted the plastic moulding above it so will only be using it in the awning in future!

We have inherited my dads smaller halogen oven as he swears by it and got a larger one. Tested with a small baguette pizza for son, took longer than we expected. Now trying chips, using the guide book (Andrew James) and been in way longer than the book says, and they are still raw?

Better get some good results soon or no way OH will try to find space in car.

Ok extremely thin chips took a while, but were lovely.

Now our pizza is in, box says for a conventional fan oven 11 mins, been in halogen for 15 mins now and still not cooked? OH is not impressed :(
