we love ours but suggest that you are ready to cook more than just the main.
for example we marinade our pork and lamb and at the same time put our veg into alf foil with say pepper salt and italian salad dressing seal it up and ikto the moat - in another aluminum pack put sweet potatoes and spuds. pepper and salt and a pat of butter also into the moat - fill the moat with water and after the heat beads are white with ash put the meat on for a short time - say 15 minutes then rest the meat under alf foil for 10 mins and slice and put on plate with opened aluminum foil packs ofveg for self serve.
now put on a cobbler that will take about an hour to cook and be just right for desert with a squirt of cream
We love our Cobb and used it every day on our last two week long camping trips.
As Peterseaford says (with the right fuel) there is usually enough to cook a main and a desert.
On the last day of our camping trip last week we roasted a joint of lamb surrounded by slices of butternut squash for the main, and finished with a hot slice of Tesco ready made bakewell tart heated up with the residual heat.
If you use Australian Heatbead briquettes (available from The Range) they last around 3 hours and you can douse them with water and re-use if there is still plenty of life left in them after you've finished cooking.
There is a facebook page called Cobb BBQ UK with lots of inspiration on different recipes people have tried.

I wrap my flat grid in foil (if I'm not cooking with it) and put it on when I have finishe d cooking. This removes the air flow and puts out the heat beads with no mess. I managed to cook chops one night, breakfast the following morning on 6 beads and then that night with the addition of only two fresh beads cooked a roast (with still enough if we'd stayed for more cooking).
