Our oldest DD is 5'11", son is 6'3", but the youngest DD stopped at 5'7" when she was 12, so don't give her sleeping bag away just yet, you never know!

I need space as well, I can't stand mummy bags. I bought a Vango Aurora this year which is both spacious and warm. Downside is its big to transport.

It's not just marketing hype, you will find some bags are cut a slightly different shape and also as most women sleep slightly colder than men, they are filled differently.

Umm.. it hadn't occurred to me that many couples would sleep in 2 separate mummy bags. I think we'd get lonely if we did. Meanwhile, there's plenty of room for big bums, big feet and a hot water bottle in our zipped-together sleeping bags.

And in this house it's the man who sleeps colder .. as he's carrying a bit less insulation.

We don't use mummy bags but not in 30 years of camping have we ever slept with our sleeping bags zipped together. We do buy L/R zips the correct way round for the way we sleep so that the zips are in the middle and we do have the odd cuddle (with children in the next pod it's a rare event though!) but never ever have we actually slept with the zips done up together. We'd drive each other mad with the elbows and knees and there is the other problem of OHs farts... We don't even share a duvet at home, we have a double duvet each on our king sized bed.

OMG - we fight with a king-sized duvet, with me wanting my shoulders covered, OH putting his arms over the top, me sticking my 'heat sinks' (feet) out the bottom, whilst he wears socks... so, NO WAY do we share a sleeping bag!

I think I dislike the categoristation (and 'colourisation') approach: just call them extra warm or wide or ergonomically shaped etc, and if mummy, surely daddy...
