I am not going to disagree with anyone as there seems to be a large portion of people who are on the don't use side each to their own who am I o disagree but personally I have several I keep in the van almost all year round I buy refill packs and change them out once all the crystals have dissolved and yes I can collect a fair bit of moisture. My rational on this it cost me about £12 to £15 per year cheaper than a damp repair, I does no harm that I know about, I gives me a sense of comfort and more importantly if it was a bunch of snake oil and was a waste of time I am sure we would all know about it and the companies selling these products would have gone bust a long time ago. yes my van is well ventilated so I am on a win win with no damp in my 1997 van I must being something right I would think
Not snake oil, moisture traps do actually collect moisture, but pending 12-£15 a year on moisture traps will not prevent failure of outside bodywork seals. Do whatever you want to do but it is important that forum members do not believe that putting moisture traps inside will in any way prevent failure of exterior bodywork which is the cause of water ingress.

Don't think anyone imagined that buying moisture traps would prevent seal failure of outside seals is this not a different topic? and you can still have damp with out water ingress although as many have said good ventilation is key to stopping this moisture traps just help a bit of a belt and braces approach.
