You can also buy glow in the dark plastic pegs which are pretty batter proof even glow under ground to light up the way for worms.
have you tried this fluorescent tubing which can be bought in small ID sizes which can be slid onto your guide lines and left on when packing up tent ETC
after pegging just slide tube down to rest against peg same sort of thing used for making bracelets and necklaces for kids or the glow in the dark gear seen at music festivals.
