------------- Camping Tip #26: In an emergency, a drawstring from a parka hood can be used to strangle a snoring tent friend...or husband!!
That's what you get for living in a posh area, Wendy!
We've got 7 Aldi's and 5 Lidl's within a 4 mile radius. At the last count (last Thursday), there were 87 of these hobs still on the shelves, within that radius from our front door.
To be fair though, we've also got 192 overgrown hedges, 17 driveways full of broken car bodies, and 63 damaged bus shelters... but hey, we ain't short of Lidl/Aldi's!
Might buy one of these, just because I can!

Thought I should update this as I have now (sort of) used this.
First night brilliant, two pans alternating on hob and had both piping hot in no time. Easy, safe, quick, loved it.
Second night kept cutting out and showing an error message. Rang hubby to get him to look up the error message in the booklet which was at home and it said "Ring the service centre" Then I realised I had not heard the fan working and the hob was VERY hot which is clearly why it was cutting out.
So I threw the piece of junk back in its box and got my Trangia out. Never lets me down.
I do think the idea is sound but I think I will spend a little more and buy a reputable brand.
I will also always make sure I have my Trangia as back up
Here am I thinking we are out in the wilds far away from supermarkets and alike. But oh no GW has found a lidl, and yes youve guessed it they had one left "Oh and its pink" says she. " it will match the cool box and my rugs" Bang goes my Im not buying anything else thread.
Thanks a bunch purple Although it is damm good for the money.
Just another update on this. I bought a Tefal hob from Argos, more expensive but I hoped this one would work. Used it for 7 nights last week and it was brill I can see no reason why the Lidl one should be a problem but the one we bought was and as they had none left and I "needed" an induction hob I thought it was worth paying the extra for the Tefal
I wonder if Lidl have changed there supplier, we bought one of there induction hobs around 5 years ago and it has been brilliant, £25 at the time I seem to remember.
